Linda Merrill

Linda Merrill is an expert in the fields of interior design, media communications & marketing.  A lifelong passion for creating beautiful – and livable – spaces combined with a savvy business mind has brought her design work and writing to a national and even international audience. Linda offers her interior design services in person in Massachusetts and “virtually” world wide.  Her blog ::Surroundings:: offers her unique views on wide ranging aspects of the built environment from architecture, photographic tours, product reviews, design inspirations, special events and even movie set decor! Linda is a sought after writer and voice in the field of interior design and not only publishes her own popular blogs, but is a contributing writer to other media outlets. She is also producer and moderator of a weekly roundtable discussion group, The Skirted Roundtable, that is available via podcast.  In addition to artistic pursuits, Linda had a long public-television career as a business executive at WGBH-Channel 2, Boston, the nation’s flagship PBS station.  Linda holds a certificate in Decorative Arts from the acclaimed Boston Architectural College and a Bachelor’s of Music Performance degree. Linda continues to perform and teach flute students. Her love of all the arts informs and inspires her designs on every level.

Q 1:  With so many design blogs out there, what are you doing to bring a fresh/unique voice to the table?

Q 2:  What makes a blog unique?  What is your niche? What makes you different?

Q 3:  Why do you blog? Is it to get clients or industry connections?

Q 4:  How do you define blogging “success”? Will you share some of your success stories.

Q 5: In order to be a successful as a design blogger one must be innovative. How do you plan to be innovative?
