Barbara Segal has been a thought leader on the internet since 1995. She is a communications gal, who became an interior designer later in life. After years of being on Madison Avenue, in the home furnishings, Auto Cad, and the gift industry, Barbara opened a 10,000 sq.ft showroom in The Chicago Merchandise Mart which represented over twenty french manufacturers. Several years later, her love of retail, lead to her opening, a french store named Soiree. Barbara ran two stores: one in Chicago’s famous Gold Coast and the other on Historical Main Street, Annapolis, MD. Renovations, commercial build outs, and building her fifth home lead Barbara’s decision to go into Interior Design. Barbara Segal is President of Noir Blanc Interiors, LLC an established design firm, with a reputation in the Yachting Industry and Luxury High-Rise Interiors. Barbara has worked in PR, social media, new media, old media, ancient media, whatever it takes to get the message in front of the audience. She believes the key to being a great public relations/communications/marketing professional is quite simple. It’s listening to your client, then listening to the target audience, and figuring out how to connect the two. Barbara has worked with high profile celebrities and has a solid reputation in getting the job done.
In her career, she has experienced public relations campaigns on both ends: as the Designer and as the Client (and audience member) being campaigned to. Because of these experiences, Barbara Segal is uniquely armed to create and implement programs, press releases, and campaigns that get noticed. Barbara was the first to have the vision to start #IntDesignerChat in June 2010 as a transparent “giving back” resource to the design community. She is elated and blessed to work with the Interior Designer Chat Ambassador team, top design professionals, that volunteer their time to “giving back to the design community.” In June of 2013, #IntDesignerChat will be three years strong with a highly successful social media platform.
